Art and  ”The Long Cool Woman” Joy Lynn and their buddy Mitch pan the traditional movie critics and the value of boring book reports on movies. You can get a long plot summary from any newspaper in America. We try to offer something different—movie commentary. We are movie fans. We take on movies from the perspective of real people. We pronounce (or mispronounce)  weird star names the way everyone else does. We are not elitists.

TMG and Joy Lynn discuss the thriller Hanna. We all raved over Win Win and TMG gave it a rare 10.0 rating on the TMG scale. Mitch offers the comparison to Blindside (2009) as a great story of personal triumph. TMG likes the way it also covered the culture of high school wrestling. While not nearly as good a film, but equally an inspiring story of personal triumph, is the story of Bethany Hamilton in Soul Surfer. Joy Lynn suggests Carrie Underwood not give up her singing career. This is not Underwood’s break out role in movies. We cover Helen Hunt as our star of the week and do some surfer trivia in honor of Bethany Hamilton. We gave Paul the dishonor of the bad movie of the week, but it may appeal to a few. We saluted Moorecroft, Wyoming in honor of the movie Paul and paid tribute to the passing of Sidney Lumet and much more…
